Location

An independent nation located on the Caribbean seaboard of Central America with a population of around 260,000. A parliamentary democracy and a member of the British Commonwealth. The capital is Belmopan and local time is 7 hours behind Central European time. Primary language is English.

Legal system

Based on English Common Law, supplemented by local legislation. The court system is similar to that in the UK and contract and commercial law is based on the English law model.
